Police investigating the death of a two-year-old girl in Co Tyrone have been granted an additional 24 hours to question a man arrested on suspicion of murder.
The 32-year-old was detained following the death of the toddler, named locally as Ali Jayden Maguire, in Dungannon on Friday.
The two-year-old was admitted to hospital on Friday afternoon after the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service attended an address in Park Avenue in Dungannon.
Police said she was suffering from what was “reported as a serious head injury”. She later died in hospital.

On Sunday, detectives from the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) major investigation team said they had been granted a court extension to question the man for an additional 36 hours.
A further extension was granted by a court on Monday.
A 24-year-old woman who was arrested by police on Sunday on suspicion of “perverting the court of justice, causing or permitting the death of a child and child cruelty” remained in custody on Monday evening.
Ornaments and teddy bears as well as sympathy messages, flowers and cards have been left outside the home where the child – known as AJ – was discovered seriously injured.
The toddler’s mother is originally from Dublin and had recently moved to the area. It has been reported that they did not live at the address where the child was found.
The MP for Fermanagh South Tyrone, Sinn Féin's Michelle Gildernew, said the community was in a state of shock.
“My thoughts are with all those affected by this tragedy,” she said.
“A police murder investigation is under way and that must be allowed to proceed and I would call on anyone with any information which may help those inquiries to contact the PSNI.”
