Police appeal for witnesses to Raheny cash robbery

Gardaí are seeking witnesses to a cash in transit robbery on Wednesday December 13th 2017. At approximately 12.05pm a security guard was making a cash delivery to a bank in Raheny Village. He was approached by a man who was armed with a what was described as a hammer and forced to hand over a cashbox. The raider left the scene in a Renault Megane driven by a second male.

A short time later the Renault Megane rammed a Garda patrol car on the Clontarf Road, this car was found abandoned on La Vista Ave, Clontarf. Gardaí also recovered the cash box in this car. No arrests have been made.
