Pedestrian killed in Meath collision

There has been a fatal road collision near Clonard, Co Meath. The incident occurred on the Clonard/Kilcock Road about 7pm.

A pedestrian in his sixties was struck by a car. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the car was not injured.

One lane on the road remains closed as Gardaí examine the scene.

The latest fatality brings the total number of deaths on the State’s roads this year to 182.
