Pedestrian hit by Luas and taken to hospital with serious injuries

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following collision near Heuston Station

A woman has been taken to hospital after being hit by a Luas tram near Heuston Station in Dublin on Thursday.

Gardaí attended the scene at Steeven’s Lane following reports of a collision at about 2:15pm.

The pedestrian, aged in her 40s, was removed from the scene by ambulance to St James’s Hospital. Her condition is understood to be serious.

The road was closed for technical examination of the scene and has since fully reopened to traffic.
