One winner of rollover €10.65m lotto jackpot

Winning ticket was a €4 quick pick sold at Souhan’s filling station in Trim, Co Meath

A €4 punt on the lottery has turned into a €10.65 million Easter win for one lucky player.

The winning €4 quick pick ticket was bought at Souhan's filling station on Haggard Street in Trim, Co Meath on Saturday.

The jackpot has been rolling over since early February, when one person in Co Kildare won a total of €10.23 million.

"We're very happy," said Ena Souhan, the manger of the shop which sold the winning ticket.

“Got a call last night from the local lotto rep to say we had sold the €4 winning ticket but I wouldn’t have a clue who it was. It was sold yesterday, that’s all I know.”

Ms Souhan said the filling station was a family business that had been in operation since 1969.

"We have a very local trade to be honest. The shop is situated in front of a Supervalu so we'd have some business from outside the town too."

She said the shop had previously had a Winning Streak and a Fame and Fortune winner but this was its first big splash when it came to the lotto.

“I wouldn’t say it’s a syndicate as it’s just a €4 ticket,” she said.

As the seller of the winning ticket, the Souhan’s will be in line for a taxable “agent bonus” of €15,000.

“We’re delighted for our customers,” Ms Souhan added.
