A man has died after he was trapped by a digger in north Dublin today.

The man, understood to be in his mid 50s, was trapped between the machinery and a wall at about 11.45am at Harbour Road in Skerries.

A spokesman for the Health and Safety Authority said inspectors were investigating the incident.

He understood the man was a member of the public.
