Man dies in single-vehicle crash in Co Meath

Gardaí in Co Meath are investigating a fatal crash, that occurred in the townland of Mandistown, Drumconrath, near Navan, Co Meath, on Sunday at 6.40pm.

A man in his late 60s, the driver and sole occupant of the car which crashed into a wall, was pronounced dead at the scene.

His body has been removed from the scene to the mortuary in Our Lady’s Hospital, Navan, where a postmortem is due to take place.

The road remains closed as Garda forensic collision investigators are at the scene. Local diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the crash to come forward. Any road users who were travelling in the townland of Mandistown on Sunday evening and who may have camera footage, including from a dash camera, is asked to make it available to gardaí.
