Man (50) killed in car crash in Co Kerry

A man has died in a car crash in Co Kerry.

Gardaí said the crash happened at Behenagh, Kielduff, Tralee at about midday.

The 50-year-old man, who was the sole occupant of the car, was fatally injured when it hit a ditch.

A Garda spokesman said he was pronounced dead at scene and was taken to Tralee General Hospital where a post mortem has taken place.

The road was closed to facilitate Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and has since reopened.

Gardaí asked witnesses or anyone who was in the Kielduff area between 11.45am and 12.15pm to contact them at Tralee Garda station, on the Garda Confidential Line at 1800 666111 or any Garda station.
