Man (20s) killed in crash in Tipperary Town

Three passengers being treated in hospital with non-life threatening injuries

A man in his 20s has been killed in a single-vehicle crash in Co Tipperary, and three others have been injured.

The man was the driver of the car which crashed at Greenane in Tipperary Town at about 12.45am on Saturday.

There were three passengers in the car – two women and one man, all aged in their 20s – who have been taken to University Hospital Limerick. It is understood their injuries were non-life threatening.

The body of the driver, who was pronounced dead at the scene, has been removed to the mortuary at the hospital.

The road was closed on Saturday morning to allow for a forensic examination, and local diversions were in place.

Gardaí have appealed for any witnesses to the crash to contact them at Tipperary Town Garda station on 062 806 70, the Garda confidential line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.

Any road users who were travelling in the area at the time and who may have camera footage, including dash cam, are also asked to come forward.
