The winning ticket for the weekend’s Lotto jackpot of more than €7.3 million was purchased in south Dublin, the National Lottery has said.
The lucky winner bought the ticket on Tuesday, September 15th, at Supervalu, Killiney Shopping Centre, Rochestown Avenue, Dun Laoghaire Co. Dublin.
The winning numbers were 7, 26, 34, 39, 41, 42, 31.
Speculation was rife among shoppers and staff at the busy supermarket, but as of yet, the prize has not been claimed.
Shane Rushe, operations manager at the supermarket, said there was a lot of excitement when news broke at the store.
“There is a great buzz around the shop this morning, everyone wondering who it was but there is no ideas, no names have come up yet,” he said.
He said he only heard about the lotto win when he was contacted by the media.
The store, which has never had a big winner before, had been very busy with lotto players coming up to the draw because of the size of the jackpot.
“There’s lots of speculation about the winner and everyone is hoping it’s themselves. I’m disappointed I didn’t buy a ticket myself,” Mr Rushe said.
The store will receive a bonus payment for having sold the winning ticket. Mr Rushe said he was not aware at this stage how much that would be.
The winner of the Lotto has 90 days to claim the prize.
