Dublin man fell ill on night out with friends, DFA providing consular assistance to family

A 44-year-old Irishman has died while on holiday in Spain over the weekend.

It is understood the man from Dublin was out with friends on Saturday night in Barcelona before he fell ill.

The Department of Foreign Affairs has confirmed it is aware of the case and is providing consular assistance to the man’s family.

Staff at the restaurant where the man worked as a general manager paid tribute on Facebook.
