Police found an assortment of drugs following search of car in Co Cork

Gardaí in Cork have arrested a man and woman for questioning following the seizure of € 100,000 worth of drugs in the county this afternoon.

Detectives from the Cork City Divisional Drugs Squad made the seizure when they stopped and searched a car in Glenville village in North Cork around 3.30pm.

Officers found an assortment of different drugs including a quantity of cannabis resin with a combined estimated street value of € 100,000.

Gardai arrested the two occupants of the car - a man and a woman both in their 20s and from the northside of Cork city..

Both were taken to Mayfield Garda Station where they are being detained under drug trafficking legislation which allows gardaí detain suspects for up to seven days
