Four men have appeared in court and been charged with theft offences after they were arrested by gardai following a five kilometre high speed chase in Cork city on Friday afternoon.
Martin McDonagh (27), and his brother James McDonagh (19), were both charged with a single count of stealing tools from a van on Castle Road, Muskerry Estate in Ballincollig on February 27th.
Darren O’Halloran (29) was also charged at the special sitting of Cork District Court with the theft of tools from the same vehicle on the same date as was his brother, Aaron O’Halloran (25).
Aaron O’Halloran was also charged with three counts of dangerous driving between Muskerry Estate in Ballincollig and Kinsale Road Roundabout in Cork on the same date.
Judge Olann Kelleher remanded Martin McDonagh of Coonagh Roundabout, Ennis Road, Limerick and Aaron O Halloran from Gould Street, Cork in custody to appear again in court on March 4th.
And he remanded James McDonagh, also of Coonagh Roundabout, Ennis Road, Limerick and Darren O'Halloran of Aura Cottage, Dublin Road, Limerick on bail with conditions to appear on March 11th.
