Female pedestrian killed in road traffic accident in Dublin

Gardaí wish to appeal for witnesses to contact them at Raheny Garda Station

A woman in her 70s has died after a road traffic accident in Dublin.

The female pedestrian was fatally injured when she was struck by a car at Howth Road/Collins Avenue East junction at approximately 12.30pm Friday afternoon.

She was taken to The Mater Hospital, where she later passed away.

Gardaí in Clontarf are investigating the collision. The road was closed immediately after the incident, and Garda Forensic Collision investigators have carried out an examination.
