Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown to provide over 100 council houses

Council decision to build ‘another step forward in improving the social housing supply’

Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council has agreed to build four housing schemes comprising 109 homes for those on its council housing list.

The move brings to 163 the number of new homes on the council’s social housing programme.

Councillors this week voted to proceed with the construction of 50 dwellings in Fitzgerald Park, Dún Laoghaire, 44 in Rosemount, Dundrum; 14 infill units in Rochestown House, Sallynoggin, and one unit in Shanganagh Park Lodge.

The building programme includes previously approved schemes at Rochestown House where 34 dwellings are proposed in phase one; Cromlech Close, Kilternan with 15 to be built, four at Clontibret House, Blackrock and a single house to be provided on Moreen Avenue, Sandyford.

The cathaoirleach, Cllr Barry Saul, said he was pleased with the decision which was “another step forward in improving the social housing supply”.
