One man is dead and another seriously injured after two separate collisions involving busses in Co Waterford and Dublin.

In the first incident, the driver of a bus carrying 29 people died after the vehicle left the road and entered a field near the N25 at Grange, Ardmore in Co Waterford.

There were no other vehicles involved in the incident, which happened at about 10.10pm on Tuesday night. The driver was taken to Cork University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead in the early hours of Wednesday.

Gardaí have asked witnesses to to contact Dungarvan Garda Station on 058 48600.

In the second incident, a man on a motorcycle collided with a bus shortly after 1am on Wednesday at Constitution Hill in Dublin.

The 25-year-old was treated at the scene and taken by ambulance to the Mater Hospital, where his condition is understood to be serious.

There were no passengers on the bus at the time and the driver, aged in his 40s, was not injured.

The road has since reopened and gardaí at Bridewell Garda Station (01-6668200) have appealed for information.
