A dog named Hooch has been rescued by the Irish Coast Guard after becoming trapped on sea cliffs in Dublin.
The incident occurred at Balscadden on Howth Head at about midday on Sunday.
The 12-year-old boxer had fallen 15m into the water, but managed to make his way back up some rocks before becoming trapped on a ledge.
The alarm was raised after Hooch’s barks were heard by people walking and paddle-boarding nearby.
A Coast Guard Cliff Rescue team from the Howth station was dispatched to rescue the dog.
The team was assisted in the water by the paddle-boarders.
The team decided that the safest course of action was to rescue the dog from above.
A rescue climber was lowered down to the ledge to collect Hooch, before both were hauled back to safety.
Hooch is said to be shaken but in good spirits following the incident.
