Cannabis ‘jellies’ valued at €33,700 seized by gardaí in Dublin

Cash, jellies and drug paraphernalia seized and three people arrested

Edible cannabis in the form of homemade “jellies” has been seized by gardaí in  Dublin.

Gardaí attached to Community Engagement Units in Kilmainham and Kevin Street seized cannabis jellies with an estimated street value of €33,700 and cash in excess of €14,000 at about 6am on Sunday.

The discovery of the jellies unfolded after gardaí stopped a man, aged in his 30s, who was driving in the Bluebell area. A search under Section 23 of the Misuse of Drugs Act, revealed cash and a small quantity of cannabis.

The man was arrested and taken to Kevin Street Garda station while a follow-up search of a house revealed significant quantity of the jellies alongside an array of drug paraphernalia.

A man (40s) and woman (30s) were arrested at the property and were detained at Kevin Street Garda station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
