A seven-year-old boy who died after falling into the sea from a cliff in Northern Ireland has been named.
Logan Crawford was missing for some time on Sunday evening and is believed to have been playing with friends near a holiday park on the north coast.
The search in Ballycastle, Co Antrim, involved the RNLI, Coastguard and a Royal Navy helicopter.
The boy was rescued from the water taken to the Causeway Hospital by helicopter but was pronounced dead.
Nationalist SDLP councillor Donal Cunningham said: "This is absolutely heartbreaking news."
A Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) spokesman said the force was investigating.
A spokesman said: “Shortly before 7.15pm, it was reported that the boy fell from a cliff into the sea.
“Northern Ireland Coastguard recovered the boy from the sea and he was airlifted to a nearby hospital, but later died as a result of his injuries.
“Inquiries are continuing.”
