A collection of poetry by senior counsel John O’Donnell was launched at the Little Museum of Dublin last night.

The collection, entitled On Water includes the poem Lamp dedicated to the memory of former Irish Times literary editor Caroline Walsh.

Mr O’Donnell said she was “instrumental” in reviewing his books before her death in 2011, aged 59.

Ms Walsh, the daughter of author Mary Lavin, was Literary Editor of The Irish Times for 13 years.

Mr O’Donnell has been published in Ireland, the UK, the US and Australia.

His first collection of poetry Some Other Country was published in 2002, the year he won the Irish National Poetry prize.

His first short story Promise was short-listed for the Hennessy/Sunday Tribune Award in 2010.
