Antigen testing conducted as part of a pilot festival event at the Royal Kilmainham Hospital in Dublin returned one positive Covid-19 result, the Department of Culture and Arts has confirmed.

The person who tested positive for the virus was denied entry to the event on Saturday but was offered a more accurate PCR test, which came back negative on Sunday morning.

Three companies conducted more than 4,000 Covid-19 tests on staff and members of the public.

The pilot concert event saw 3,500 ticket holders separated into viewing pods of a maximum of six people.

Each pod was separated by at least one metre of space. Audience members were required to wear face coverings when moving outside their ticketed pods.

The festival was headlined by Dublin singer-songwriter Gavin James, and featured full sets from Lyra, Denise Chaila, Sharon Shannon, Wild Youth and Wyvern Lingo.

On Saturday Minister for Culture and Arts Catherine Martin said it was “great to see so many people out safely enjoying music” at the event.
