The Shinty-Hurling International is a hybrid game which was developed to facilitate international representative matches between shinty players from Scotland and hurlers from Ireland.

Rocsommon goalkeeper Caroline Connaughton received the trophy for Ireland and was delighted to receive her first International camogie honour.

“We expected it to be a very tough game as there were a few of our side who had played here before, but it was my first time and I am extremely proud with the team,” said Connaughton.

“The goals are much bigger from our point of view and I’m delighted we kept going to hold out for the win.”
