Cricket:Ireland's Friends Provident Trophy South Conference match against Surrey was called off without a ball being bowled due to heavy rain at the Oval.

The washout leaves Surrey with three wins and a two no results from five matches and gives Ireland their first point of the campaign having lost their five previous games.

Surrey remain in contention for a semi-final place and will hope to gain a further two points against a struggling Glamorgan side on Monday.

Meanwhile, Ireland travel to the south coast to play Sussex and no doubt will be looking to try to cause an upset after their recent World Cup performances.
