The International Space Station will be visible to the naked eye from Ireland every night this week until Sunday.

According to Astronomy Ireland the space station will be almost overhead as it passes 360 km above the country.

To the naked eye the space station looks like a bright star crossing the sky from right to left and moves at the same speed as jet aircraft appear to move.

Astronomy Ireland's David Moore said "because it is so high above the ground everyone can see it at the same time."
