Germany's economy should expand 0.2 per cent in the second quarter compared with the first three months of the year, the Berlin-based DIW economic institute forecast today.
German gross domestic product (GDP) grew 1 per cent in the first quarter, according to preliminary data published last month by the Federal Statistics Office.
"Growth will be supported by the stable development in manufacturing and . . . the especially strong bounce back in construction output in the second quarter after the weather-related losses in the first quarter," DIW said.
