A FILE has been sent to the DPP in relation to the death of a Dublin man who was shot a number of times as he sat in a parked car, an inquest has heard.
Gary Bryan (30), Lower Kimmage Road, was sitting in the passenger seat of a car on Bunting Road, Crumlin, on September 26th, 2006, when a man shot him a number of times at point black range. Mr Bryan ran across the road to escape, but the gunman shot him again.
Mr Bryan sustained six gunshot wounds and died of his injuries.
Insp Brian Sutton of Crumlin Garda station told Dublin city coroner Dr Brian Farrell that a file had been sent to the DPP in the last six weeks and he sought, and was granted, a six-month adjournment.
Meanwhile, two more inquests into gun-related deaths were adjourned at Dublin City Coroner's Court due to ongoing Garda investigations.
Raymond Collins (42), Matt Talbot Court, Summerhill, was shot dead near the junction of Clonliffe Road and Clonliffe Avenue near Croke Park at about 5pm on November 14th, 2006.
The coroner granted a six-month adjournment of the inquest into Mr Collins's death.
He also granted a six-month adjournment of the inquest into the death of a man who was shot dead at Dublin's Oriel Street in a gangland-style killing.
Stephen Ledden (28) was shot in the head at Oriel Street, Dublin, on December 27th.
Insp Halloran said the file was not yet ready for the DPP.
It has been reported that Mr Ledden was shot by mistake by killers targeting another man thought to be behind a feud-related murder two weeks earlier.
