THE Irish Republican Socialist Party (IRSP) has claimed that its associated military organisation, the INLA, was not ruling out a renewed military campaign unless inclusive political negotiations take place, but was also adopting a "no first strike" policy in relation to loyalists.
The IRSP, in a statement, said its delegates had held a number of meetings with the INLA leadership over the past week. The INLA had said it was not led by what the IRA was or was not doing there had been no dovetailing of strategy between the IRA and it.
It was a distinct and separate organisation, had been analysing and observing the situation as it unfolded, "and would respond as the circumstances dictated".
According to the statement, the INLA said its commitment to accommodate a genuine peace process remained undiminished.
