Independent News & Media sees growth in advertising and circulation revenues in line with market expectations in the first half of its year, which should help to boost profit growth in 2005.

In a scheduled trading statement, the group said today it expected advertising revenues to show high single-digit growth in the first six months of this year and low single-digit growth in circulation revenues.

It forecast increased operating margins, as it focuses on driving down costs, and added it "remained confident of, and expects, a meaningful improvement in underlying profit for the full year of 2005, in line with current market expectations".
