Manila - The former Philippine First Lady Imelda Marcos underwent an operation at a Manila hospital yesterday to remove a blood clot from her forehead after suffering a fall, her spokeswoman said. "It was a minor operation which lasted less than an hour," Ms Cherry Cobarrubias told Reuters by phone, trying to quell speculation that something serious had happened to the 71-yearold widow of late dictator Ferdinand Marcos.
