Poultry producers and their families have been invited by the Irish Farmers' Association to join a rally tomorrow to support the sit-in at Monaghan Poultry Products in Monaghan town.

The protest, in the lobby of the poultry-processing plant, is led by the deputy president of the IFA, Mr John Dillon, on behalf of the 300 producers and breeders the organisation represents.

They claim that farmers are receiving only 15p of the retail price of a £4 chicken.
