UN nuclear watchdog chief Dr Mohamed ElBaradei said today he had agreed with Iranian officials to send a team of experts to Tehran next week to clarify Iranian concerns over tighter nuclear inspections.

"I hope that once these issues have been clarified that Iran will be in a position to sign the protocol," Dr ElBaradei told reporters.

The Additional Protocol to the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty would allow IAEA to conduct more rigorous inspections of Iran's atomic sites at short notice.
