GAA:Today's All-Ireland SHC relegation play-offs involving Antrim, Offaly, Clare and Wexford will go ahead as planned after the Disputes Resolution Authority (DRA) rejected an appeal from the teams.

The counties took an eleventh-hour case to the DRA in a bid to halt this afternoon's matches at Parnell Park and O'Moore Park.

Concerns were raised over the possibility of relegation to the Christy Ring Cup next year.

Last night's DRA hearing in Dundalk lasted for more than six hours and was attended by representatives from all four counties.

"It was 2.30am this morning when they left the hotel…It was then confirmed that the games would go ahead," Clare PRO Syl O’Connor stated.

"At the moment all we are concerned about is the match (against Wexford) going ahead."

DRA deputy secretary Andrew Fay took charge of the hearing in the absence of secretary Matt Shaw.

A statement issued by the DRA this morning read: "Following a hearing on July 24th with representatives from Offaly, Antrim, Clare and Wexford, the DRA has directed that this weekend's relegation play-off games shall proceed.

"The full report of the ruling shall be made available later today."
