An Taisce has welcomed An Bord Pleanala's rejection of proposals for a housing scheme in a Co Laois village.

An Taisce has welcomed An Bord Pleanala's rejection of proposals for a housing scheme in a Co Laois village.

The board ruled against a plan for 26 homes at Vicarstown on the grounds that its "suburban-style layout and design" would seriously injure the amenities and character of the village and set an undesirable precedent for its development.
