The owner of a house in south Belfast escaped injury after it was targeted in a gun attack early today.

The owner of a house in south Belfast escaped injury after it was targeted in a gun attack early today.

Two shotgun blasts were aimed at the house in the Four Winds area at around 12.30 a.m. The shots were fired through an upstairs bedroom window and a downstairs living room window.

Detectives from Castlereagh have appealed to anyone with information to help their investigation.

The shooting was condemned by Sinn Féin's Mr Alex Maskey. "It [the shooting] was a frightening and deeply worrying incident for the householder and other residents in the area.

"Four Winds is a quiet residential area and this sort of incident is completely  unacceptable."
