Jakarta - At least 15 people were killed in a landslide triggered by torrential rains in Sumatra, police said yesterday. The final death toll could be much higher, however, with about 50 more people believed to be still trapped, and hopes of finding survivors among them was fading. The landslide occurred on Thursday in a suburb of Padang. It followed days of torrential rains. "We are keeping our hopes up but it is unlikely that we will find any survivors," Lt-Col Estuning Widayat commented.
