CALAIS - Hundreds of British holidaymakers were forced to return to Dover yesterday after a blockade of Calais by French fishermen, a spokeswoman for P&O Ferries said.

Two ferries, forced to turn back at mid-crossing, were joined by a third, the Pride of Dover, which had managed to break through the blockade and leave Calais for the return trip to Britain.
