Paris - A new French rail-line offering the prospect of breakfast in London and lunch on the Riviera is scheduled to be operating within two years, bringing the Mediterranean closer to south-east England than many British seaside resorts, Paul Webster reports.
Workers are to lay the first length of track today for the 295km TGV Mediterranee through Provence between Valence and Marseilles, the final link in a proposed six-hour journey between Kent and the Rhone delta.
