Dublin great Dr David Hickey will replace selector Paul Nugent in Pat Gilroy’s backroom team, but there will be no role for former captain Colin Moran.

Hickey, who won the All-Ireland with Dublin in 1974, ’76 and ‘77, was appointed at Parnell Park last night.

The consultant urologist and transplant surgeon based at Beaumont Hospital will, however, not be joined behind the scenes by Moran.

Moran had remained involved in the set-up during the disappointing 2009 season after quitting because of ongoing injury problems.
