Dublin's Heuston Station was closed for 90 minutes yesterday evening after a telephoned bomb warning.
Rail schedules were seriously disrupted by the hoax, which forced the evacuation of the building at 5.30 p.m.
An Army bomb disposal team identified two suspect objects in the station bar, but neither proved to be an explosive device. The station was reopened at 7 p.m.
The hoaxers, who phoned the warning to the Newry Samaritans, also referred to a device on the Dublin-Belfast railway line, but the line was given the all-clear. A Garda spokesman said there was no indication of the identity of the hoax callers.
