Tim Henman today backed Greg Rusedski in his fight to clear his name after testing positive for nandrolone.

Rusedski has strongly protested his innocence after revealing he had failed a drugs test at a tournament in Indianapolis last year.

Davis Cup team-mate Henman said his "gut feeling" was that Rusedski would not have knowingly taken nandrolone.

"I've got to know Greg pretty well over the years, practising and playing Davis Cup, and my gut feeling is he would not do something like that," the British number one told BBC Radio. "It puts a lot of uncertainty into players minds and at this stage it's not worth judging until the appeal process has taken place."

Rusedski faces a hearing in Montreal on February 9th.
