SAN FRANCISCO - A 13-month-old girl died after being left in a Ford Explorer vehicle for eight hours by her father in temperatures of up to 65.55 Celsius after he went to work and forgot about her, police said yesterday.

Mr Darren Rodrigues (29) was meant to drop off the child, Brianna, at a day care centre - but forgot. He remembered at 5 p.m., when his wife rang him from the centre, that the child was still strapped into its car seat.
