Details have been announced of four walk-in vaccination clinics that will open in Cork this bank holiday weekend for locals aged 16 and over who have not yet received a vaccine.
First doses only will be administered at the centres, which will welcome anyone who hasn’t already registered through the Health Service Executive’s (HSE’s) online portal.
The four Cork centres will be located at Clonakilty GAA Club (Saturday 11am to 3pm), Bantry Primary Care Centre (Sunday 11am to 3pm), City Hall in Cork City (Sunday 1pm to 4pm), and Munster Technological University Cork in Bishopstown (Monday 10am to 4pm).

First-shot walk-in clinics are due to open around the country over the August bank holiday weekend for people aged 16 and up, with other locations to be announced in the coming days for those outside of Co Cork. Attendees will be offered mRNA vaccines only and will receive notification of their second vaccine appointment by text message.

The HSE has said people will need to bring photo ID and know their Eircode and PPS number.
Chief officer of Cork Kerry Community Healthcare, Michael Fitzgerald, said staff at the Cork centres have already offered appointments by text to everyone in the area who registered online.
“This is an opportunity for anyone who may have missed an appointment to get their first vaccination,” he said.
Vaccination lead for the South/South West Hospital Group, Bridie O’Sullivan, stressed that participants must bring with them photo ID and their PPS number, so they can be registered on the system for a second dose.
The vaccines are “free, safe and efficient”, she said, adding that the group is pleased to make it as “easy as possible for anyone who wishes to get a vaccination to do so as quickly as possible”.
