Which living person do you most admire and why?
Anthony O'Reilly because he achieved a lot at a young age in an environment regarded as most difficult, and subsequently developed numerous businesses.
What do you regard as the top three problems facing Ireland's health system?
The health system faces many challenges and the key ones I see are based around access to care when people require services. The proposed primary care infrastructure is badly needed and a comprehensive network for cancer services is urgently required. Greater co-operation between the public and private sectors would make a significant impact.
Who would you invite to your dream dinner party?
Nelson Mandela, Michael O'Muircheartaigh, Michael O'Leary, Roy Keane, Erin Brockovich, Annika Sorenstam and Natasha Kaplinsky.
What is your idea of perfect happiness?
Roscommon win the All- Ireland in 2008.
What trait do you most value in your friends?
Sincerity and loyalty.
What is your most unhealthy habit?
Eating chocolate and biscuits too often.
What is your greatest extravagance?
Tickets for sporting events.
How do you relax?
GAA, golf and reading.
Do you use alternative/ complementary medicines or therapies?
No.
What is your earliest memory?
Visiting my grandmother in Oola, Co Limerick at about the age of three.
What talent would you most like to have?
It would be great to be able to play the piano. I guess I still have time to learn.
What is your most treasured possession?
The three All-Ireland medals I won with Roscommon - U21F, Junior Hurling; U21 special hurling.
What other career might you have chosen?
I would love to have chosen medicine as a career.
