Kigali - A former Rwandan journalist accused of reading on the air the names of minority Tutsis who were later hunted down and killed during the 1994 genocide has been arrested after four years in hiding, the attorney general said yesterday.

Mr Emmanuel Rukangira said police arrested Ms Valerie Bemeriki last week. She is one of the 1,000 most-wanted genocide suspects sought on charges of organising and planning the 1994 slaughter of more than 500,000 Tutsis and politically moderate Hutus on the orders of an extremist Hutu government.
