Guns found at school

Gardaí have found three shotguns stored on the roof of a primary school

Gardaí have found three shotguns stored on the roof of a primary school. The weapons were wrapped in plastic with a small amount of ammunition and are believed to have been stolen and stored there by local criminals involved in organised crime.

The discovery was made in inner-city Dublin yesterday morning following information given to the Garda. A local person reported seeing suspicious activity around the school, prompting gardaí to review CCTV footage covering the school buildings at the Mater Dei National School, Basin Lane, Dublin.

It revealed that a number of men had been in the school and had climbed onto the roof. When gardaí investigated yesterday they found the weapons.
