Gardai believe members of a south Dublin drugs gang were responsible for the gun attack on a house in the Kimmage area late on Thursday night, writes Jim Cusack, Security Correspondent.

No one was injured when up to six shots were fired into the living room and front hall of a house on Stannaway Road. A man who was downstairs at the time escaped without injury.

According to Garda sources there has been an increase locally in drug and gang-related activity. A number of rival gangs are said to be engaged in disputes.
