Greens call for close of Chernobyl

THE nuclear reactor at Chernobyl must be shut down immediately, the Green MEP, Ms Nuala Ahern, said yesterday.

The G7 countries must assist the people of the Ukraine in closing it and finding an alternative non nuclear source of energy, she said.
