Greece has reported a suspected case of SARS saying the possible victim was a Chinese citizen.

"This time we have a real suspect case," Health Minister Costas Stephanis told a news conference. "He is a Chinese citizen who has arrived here from China."

The man arrived in Athens last Saturday and flew to Kavala in northern Greece on the same day, Mr Stephanis said. He was admitted to a hospital in Drama near Kavala yesterday and was now being treated as a suspected SARS case in Thessaloniki.

Last month Greek officials ruled out a possible case of the deadly flu-like virus Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) after a series of tests carried out on a South African flight attendant proved negative.
