Bonn - The government of the east German state of Thuringia yesterday called for an inquiry into the fate of the remains of the national poet, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, as it was confirmed that the East German communist regime secretly exhumed the corpse almost 30 years ago and doctored the remains for the sake of preservation.
