Negotiations which followed the occupation of the lobby of the Kilkenny-based Glanbia company by Irish grain farmers, has yielded an increased offer for barley, writes Sean MacConnell.

The company confirmed last night that it had offered £74 per tonne on account for undried barley at 20 per cent moisture plus a post harvest review.
